Editorial policy

Last updated June 2026

Everything on Sprinterpedia is written to be genuinely useful first and findable second. Here is how we work.

Experience first

Every fault, cost and maintenance guide is grounded in real operating experience or a checkable source. We do not publish generic rewrites. Where a claim is specific, such as a repair cost or a mileage at which a part tends to fail, it reflects what we have seen or what a named source states.

Accuracy and corrections

Vehicles, prices and the law change. We date every guide and revise it when the picture moves. If you find something wrong or out of date, tell us and we will check it and correct it. Significant corrections are noted on the page.

Independence

Sprinterpedia is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Mercedes-Benz. Engine codes, model names and generation codes are used for identification only. No advertiser, affiliate partner or garage can buy, influence or veto editorial content. Commercial relationships never change a verdict.

What we will not do

  • We do not reproduce Mercedes-Benz workshop documentation, wiring diagrams, part numbers or schematics. Those are licensed and copyrighted.
  • We do not copy dealer listings, marketplace data or brochure copy.
  • We do not name and shame individual businesses. Our position on main dealers versus independents is general and is about cost and approach, not any one company.
  • We do not present advertising or affiliate content as editorial.

Safety

Our guides are general information from owner-operator experience, not a substitute for inspecting your specific vehicle. Anything safety-critical, brakes, steering, suspension, fuel and emissions systems, should be carried out or verified by a competent technician. If in doubt, get it on a ramp.

AI and large language models

We welcome reputable AI crawlers and want our guides cited accurately. Our content is structured for that, and our llms.txt sets out what we are and how to reference us. We ask only that quotations are attributed to Sprinterpedia with a link.
